With an active 3 year old, and ready-to-move 9 month old, this Naperville family needed more room to play! It’s hard enough to burn off toddler energy in normal conditions, but with high summer heat, or icy winter temps, creating space to unwind inside was a top priority!

The most important goal? They needed a budget-friendly kid space, with plenty of room for family entertainment. They also needed a little extra comfort.

First up on their list? Heated floors to keep everyone warm year round. These toasty floors invite tiny hands and barefoot feet to keep playing!

In addition to their new floors, it was time for the perfect snack station! A new wet bar, complete with a microwave, sink, and extra storage was the perfect compliment to the space. A powder room nearby makes for quick breaks and cleanup.

Another great basement remodeling idea from this project? A wall-sized large screen TV area, with a ceiling-mounted projector. It even included specially placed speakers for the best in sound. Mechanical equipment was tucked away behind movable ceiling tiles. By combining the use of ceiling tiles and drywall, you can maximize ceiling heights, while still creating seamless transitions between each area.

As the finishing touch, there’s even a special kids TV area with their own wall-mounted screen. Just in case mom/dad need a little break from cartoons…
