Now that the ever looming April 15th tax date is behind us, you may be ready to focus on a remodeling project for your home. We thought you may be wondering what your neighbors are up to. Here are some current trends that we see our clients embracing that may help you as you prepare for your next project.
1. Trending at the top of our kitchen remodels are hands free faucets! Who wouldn’t want to have a touch-less faucet at your finger tips for clean up after mixing a meatloaf with your hands? Moen led the way with these faucets; now, Kohler and others offer options for your sinks. Chrome is becoming the finish king for faucets & plumbing fixtures.
2. Clean, contemporary, darker cabinets are abundant in design magazines & various websites. The strong contemporary cabinets are slowly popping up in our projects. However, popular for our clients are a more transitional craftsman style door with softer edges. Finishes tend to be either on the espresso brown tones or light/white with glazes. Not much in between.
3. Small touches of comfort & luxury are important to our clients. The easy addition of floor heat in baths, basements or any remodeling project is becoming mainstream. Without going over the top, floor heat brings warmth and comfort to any room in your home. Our clients love that extra enhancement of year round warmth!
4. Design & color resources tell us that gray is the new neutral. But our clients are telling us they still love warm creams & earth tones, with touches of subtle accents. Maybe, our Midwest winters may keep us away from using gray inside our homes. Or perhaps our client’s investment in their home furnishings prevent them from swaying too far away from their existing conditions to embrace new color schemes. Whatever the case, we always recommend that you choose a color scheme you love & enjoy it!
So there’s the latest “dirt” on what your neighbors are into for their remodeling projects. They are choosing remodeling trends for their homes that add comfort while being classic, practical and timeless. Which trend makes it to your list?
PS. Here’s a new industry trend coming forward for kitchen appliance color…WHITE IS COMING BACK, BETTER! Take a look- Miele white appliances.
