Not unlike many Naperville homes, Dennis & Katie’s master bath is compact. Their bath is efficient in the use of space and conveniently located as part of their master bedroom. With their children’s college years complete, Dennis & Katie decided it was their master bath’s turn for some attention!
The keys to success for this Naperville master bath remodel were to create a larger shower, add more storage, improve overall lighting and give the bath a more current vibe.
Looking beyond the limits of this 5′ x 8′ bath, the demolition enlarged the shower by removing existing soffits & pushed the shower wall to the entire width of the bath. Increased storage came with the new counter height bath cabinet , complete with drawers & pull out shelves. The recessed, wall mounted, mirrored medicine cabinet, topped off storage enhancements. Things got brighter with the two LED wall scones surface mounted on a full height custom beveled vanity mirror.
Introducing calm, natural materials transformed this ordinary master bath into a “Master-peace” Bath. Using large scale rectangular tile on the floors and shower created a feeling of spaciousness in this small space. Running down the center of the shower wall, natural river rock stone in soft sea-glass tones adds subtle texture and movement to the space. Espresso finish on the cabinet adds contrast the to the tile and creme marfil marble counter top. A flip down teak shower seat discreetly adds seating and a spa touch to the shower. Use of over-sized vanity mirror adds the illusion of space and great reflection of light for dressing. Chrome finished plumbing & bath accessories add a touch of sparkle. The use of the sea-glass color paint on the walls and ceiling contribute to the overall serenity of this Naperville “Master-peace“.
Who knew such a peaceful place could exist in a 5 x 8 Master Bath in Naperville?
